How do you feel about purple?

Why do you ask, I hear you say. Wellll I ask because purple, actually Radiant Orchid to be precise is Pantones Colour of the Year for 2014.

I'm actually quite surprised how well Radiant Orchid goes with other colours.
It really does lend itself beautifully to lots of different combinations but here is my new favourite Radiant Orchid colour combo.

I sold out of this particular colour combo at our last market in record time and although I myself don't wear a lot of pink or purple, I find that this Radiant Orchid, tiffany blue and fuchsia colour combo is becoming a new personal favourite and its perfect to add a fun splash of colour to a plain black top.
This will be one of our regular geo necklace colour ways for 2014 so, you know if you wear this Radiant Orchid colour combo piece, you will be 'bang on trend' for 2014.

Where have I been?

Well, most of the time I've been busy with Market prep. Pretty boring I know but worth while when its all finished and looking pretty.

I've also been creating some new hand painted wooden geo necklaces, strung on our new bright and beautiful waxed cord.
Lots more designs and colours to come when the dreaded market prep is completed.

There's also a few new designs in our 15mm button stud range added to our Madeit and Etsy stores.
You can checkout all the new goodies on Madeit HERE and Etsy HERE.
Bye for now and thanks for visiting ♥ Shell x

Behind the scenes at Sweet Sherbet HQ.

I don't know about you but, I LOVE having a look behind the scenes at crafty peoples work spaces.
Today I though I give to a little tour of where I work.
This is where all the craftiness takes place but only one corner (the most important corner) of my space.
I like to use trestle tables for my work benches. I have 3 in total and they almost span the entire length of 2 walls.
Above is where most of the work gets done.
This is where I make, pick and pack most of my jewellery. I also get all my paper work done here and everything has its place and is within easy reach.

The set of little red draws hold the components I use most often like fabric cover button components, brooch backs, earring backs, adhesives and various tools for different things.
In the white basket on top is all the free sets of earrings that I send out with all orders over $10.00, packaged up and ready to go.
I like to keep fat quarters in the basket, I've found that if I keep the most popular ones there its easier to find what I'm looking for rather than searching through a drawer or tub and the colours and patterns are colourful and give me inspiration for new products, designs and colour combos.

I made the little tool caddies by covering tins with scrapbook paper. This is where I keep more tools, scissors, paintbrushes and business cards for when I'm packing orders.

Most of the time on my desk, you will find a little something special made for me or picked by my two little boys.
I like to keep this sweet vintage bottle on my desk for the cute little posies the pick for me.
Sometimes its weeds lol but this week its pretty and sweet smelling freesias picked by my youngest little man Master 4yrs,

To the left of this picture you will see some white baskets.
I keep my wrapping supplies here.
Then there is my trusty old printer where I print labels, orders, invoices and all other paperwork.
Next to that is a speaker because I need to have music while I work, especially when doing the boring stuff like paperwork.
Behind the printer is pretty rolls of Chiyogami paper and some bubble wrap for parcels.
The rest of my packaging supplies are found directly under this table in a set of draws so that all of my packaing supplies are all in the same space and easy to reach.

Lastly is my favourite part. This wall display is growing and changing all the time, in fact I have about 4 new pieces to add when I get more hooks.
There's my white board with handmade magnets which is empty at the moment which means I'm up to date YAHOOO!
A few cute photo canvases, some of my own original mixed media canvases and some gorgeous mini  wood blocks by one of my favourite mixed media artists DanitaArt.
My calendar, a gift to me from my beautiful niece and the stunning retro vintage bunting by
Merry-go-round.

So that's one corner, I hope you enjoyed the tour and a sneak peak into the behind the scenes.

Just before I go Id like to say thanks to everyone who entered our Bunny Brooch give away.
We had 3 brooches and 4 entries so I have something to send each of our entrants YAY!!!!
Bye for now ♥ Shell x

I will pick 3 winners at random and they will receive one bunny each.
The design they win, will be pick at random by myself.

You can see other deigns I have for sale HERE and follow our Facebook page HERE.

Good luck everyone.

Spring is full of colour.

I'm always super inspired by colours and I'm a 'brights' girl at heart so how excited do you think I was to see the new spring colour pallet?

Its seriously drool worthy and I just cant wait to create some new spring pieces for Sweet Sherbet using these gorgeous colours.
I think some pretty new brooches and pendants and maybe a geo necklace or two could be just the things to try out these pretty colour combos.
